Editorial Assistant
Overview:
We’re looking for a bright, confident individual to join the Wonderly editorial team based in Volkswagen Group UK’s headquarters in Milton Keynes. This position would suit someone early in their editorial career, who is eager to learn, bursting with natural creativity and curiosity, and has an interest in cars and digital content.
Wonderly is a leading owned-media agency, producing world-class content for global brands. On behalf of Volkswagen Group UK (VWG), we operate Hub, the main digital communication channel between its brands - including Volkswagen cars, Audi, SEAT and Skoda - and its national network of dealers, retailers and repair centres.
The content we produce almost always has an automotive angle, but this isn’t _What Car?_ _or_ _Autocar_ - so while we do get our hands on the latest vehicles, we’re focused on delivering business-critical communications from VWG to thousands of car industry employees across the UK. It’s an exciting time in the industry, too: VWG is a global pioneer in electric and autonomous car tech, and our team is at the front line of helping it to inform, educate and inspire salespeople, technicians and business owners.
If all that sounds interesting but daunting, don’t worry. You’ll be working with an experienced team of editors and content experts, and we’ll provide training and mentoring to ensure you make the best start in this brilliant position. Former editorial assistants have gone on to become senior editors in the team, and you’ll be part of the wider Wonderly team, which itself forms part of the Haymarket Media Group, one of the world’s leading publishers.
**Responsibilities**:
The Hub team creates, edits and publishes news and reference articles spanning everything from the latest model launches and finance offers to minor specification and business updates. It’s a fast-moving corporate environment, where you’ll be expected to turn your hand to a variety of tasks, including
- taking and discussing briefs from our clients
- writing and copy-editing
- video production
- working with developer colleagues to enhance website features
Skills / Experience / Knowledge / Minimum Criteria:
We're looking for people with:
- A degree in journalism or English, or demonstrable alternative experience and aptitude
Strong written and communication skills, with an eagle eye for detail
- The ability to multitask, effectively managing your own workload and proactively seeking opportunities to help
Digital content experience, particularly using a CMS (eg Wordpress) but ideally also some knowledge of tools such as Photoshop and Google Analytics
- The confidence to work in a busy, client-facing office environment, where a calm, positive attitude is vital
- A desire to become a highly valued team member and all-round digital content superstar
We are a Disability Confident employer and offer guaranteed interviews to all disabled applicants who meet the above minimum criteria.
