Position Overview
We are excited to present an opportunity for a dedicated Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join our esteemed pharmacy team at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. This role is ideal for those looking to enhance their expertise in a dynamic hospital pharmacy environment while playing a vital role in our department's operations.
Key Responsibilities
The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will be instrumental in delivering a high-quality pharmacy service, which includes:
- Providing specialized clinical support to senior pharmacists in designated clinical areas.
- Conducting routine pharmacy operations while ensuring adherence to medication regulations.
- Participating in the development and maintenance of pharmacy policies and guidelines.
- Collaborating with medical and nursing staff to implement necessary service improvements.
- Identifying and addressing risk management issues or clinical incidents as they arise.
- Generating and analyzing reports to inform the Trust about medication usage and safety concerns.
- Engaging in audits to assess the effectiveness of medication systems and identify areas for improvement.
- Providing support for formulary and drug usage initiatives in collaboration with the Medicines Information department.

Qualifications and Skills
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A Master's Degree in Pharmacy obtained through a recognized undergraduate program.
- Registration as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for advancing pharmacy practice.
- Experience in a clinical setting, demonstrating a broad understanding of various specialty areas.
