Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will be instrumental in delivering a high-quality pharmacy service, which includes:

  • Providing specialized clinical support to senior pharmacists in designated clinical areas.
  • Conducting routine pharmacy operations while ensuring adherence to medication regulations.
  • Participating in the development and maintenance of pharmacy policies and guidelines.
  • Collaborating with medical and nursing staff to implement necessary service improvements.
  • Identifying and addressing risk management issues or clinical incidents as they arise.
  • Generating and analyzing reports to inform the Trust about medication usage and safety concerns.
  • Engaging in audits to assess the effectiveness of medication systems and identify areas for improvement.
  • Providing support for formulary and drug usage initiatives in collaboration with the Medicines Information department.

Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Master's Degree in Pharmacy obtained through a recognized undergraduate program.
  • Registration as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for advancing pharmacy practice.
  • Experience in a clinical setting, demonstrating a broad understanding of various specialty areas.
