Position Overview

The Senior Facilities Supervisor plays a crucial role in delivering an exceptional housekeeping service that enhances patient care within the healthcare environment. This position is integral to the Facilities team at Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, focusing on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across various sites.

Work Schedule

The role requires flexibility, with shifts scheduled from Monday to Sunday over a five-day period, including alternate weekends.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Facilities Supervisor will:

  • Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure that housekeeping services align with patient care objectives, particularly in relation to Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of specialized cleaning tasks, including deep cleans of patient areas, as directed by the Infection Prevention Control Team.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, including HACCP and COSHH, while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
  • Manage cash handling and documentation processes associated with the role.
  • Foster positive relationships with stakeholders to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene certification.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in cleaning science or facilities management.
  • Progress towards a leadership qualification or significant supervisory experience in a facilities context.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience in supervising facilities services within a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Experience in implementing and supervising risk management policies and procedures.
