Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that cater to the individual needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and learning.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, speech therapists, and occupational therapists, to provide holistic support.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary to ensure each student reaches their full potential.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and involving them in the educational process.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS / Education degree
  • Proven experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, particularly at Key Stage 3
  • Strong understanding of ASD-specific teaching strategies and interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with best practices in ASD education
