Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

Our client, a leading building services engineering consultancy, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer or Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their Cambridge office on a full-time, permanent basis.

Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects across different sectors, including Healthcare, Higher Education, Science & Research, Transport, and Commercial.

  • Support the development of initial engineering concepts through to the delivery of detailed designs and specifications.
  • Undertake site surveys and investigations, and see your designs become a reality.
  • Contribute to developing the design of engineering solutions and systems within the built environment, preparing plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Inspect installations, reviewing progress, quality, and performance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Prior experience at another multi-disciplinary, building services, or engineering consultancy.
  • Software package knowledge: AutoCAD and/or Amtech, BIM, Relux, Dialux, IES.
  • Professional qualifications such as a degree/HND in BSc/BEng(Hons) in Electrical Engineering/Building Services Engineering or similar.
  • Working towards or a Member or Associate of Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).
  • A clear understanding of the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical building services within the built environment.
  • Project Leading/Client Facing experience would be advantageous.
