About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Hoare Lea. As a Senior Electrical Services Specialist or Principal Electrical Engineering Consultant, you will be responsible for leading electrical services design on large projects and overseeing overall MEP on small to medium-sized projects within our office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement electrical design solutions for complex projects
  • Lead and manage project teams, including specialist groups
  • Collaborate with clients and other professionals to deliver high-quality projects
  • Manage project expenditure and report to project leaders
  • Ensure quality standards and technical accuracy are met
  • Contribute to the professional development of team members
  • Actively lead self and identify opportunities for career development
Requirements
  • Excellent technical knowledge in Electrical Design Engineering
  • Thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design
  • Previous consultancy experience, with a focus on electrical design
  • Able to lead small to medium-sized projects and take a brief from project leads on large projects
  • Responsible for the quality of outputs
  • Appreciation of client needs and ability to face clients
  • Ability to identify when outsourcing is required
  • Understand and identify resource needs
  • Mentor and supervise junior members of staff
  • Ideal: Chartered engineer or working towards
