JMC Aviation is collaborating with a prominent MRO organization seeking to appoint a new Check Manager.

This esteemed client specializes in both line and base maintenance, as well as modifications and repairs for fuel systems in commercial and military aircraft. This is a permanent position, with working hours from Monday to Friday, either on an early shift (7am - 3pm) or a late shift (3pm - 11pm).

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary package
  • £5,000 flexibility bonus
  • Fixed working hours (40 hours per week)

  • Sick pay starting from the first day: 3 weeks full and 3 weeks half pay; after one year of service, it increases to 6 weeks full and 6 weeks half pay

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the management and execution of assigned maintenance inputs while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Delivering maintenance inputs according to schedule
  • Executing projects and company initiatives on time
  • Supporting the Base Maintenance Management Team as needed
  • Managing all personnel within the designated area of responsibility
  • Issuing certificates of release to service for specific aircraft types within the limitations of their QA044 staff authorization
  • Assigning tasks and responsibilities within their work area
  • Keeping a log of progress against tasks
  • Providing daily production briefings
  • Updating senior management as necessary
  • Developing solutions to meet maintenance targets within budget constraints
  • Issuing daily progress reports for aircraft under maintenance
  • Ensuring the technical integrity of all work performed under their supervision
  • Monitoring the conduct and timekeeping of all assigned staff
  • Maintaining work areas to the highest cleanliness standards
  • Conducting husbandry and tool audits and recording results
  • Performing formal appraisals of hangar staff and advising on training and development needs
  • Ensuring health and safety 'duty of care' for their team by adhering to current procedures
  • Conducting DQS self-audits in accordance with base maintenance protocols
  • Assigning audits to staff and coordinating responses as needed
  • Assisting with quality audits and supporting the implementation of effective closure plans
  • Collaborating with the Head of Base Maintenance on budget creation and management as required

Required Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, the Check Manager must possess the following qualifications:

  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK
  • Category B license with C certification by aircraft type
  • Hold a B777 and/or A320 type rating and C-certification
  • Extensive experience with wide-body aircraft
  • Significant base maintenance experience as a B1 and/or B2 Certifying Engineer
  • Familiarity with Part 145 aviation regulations
  • Right to work in the UK
