Position Details

This is a permanent role based in Manchester, with a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday, offering either an early shift (7am - 3pm) or a late shift (3pm - 11pm).

Compensation and Benefits

  • Attractive Salary
  • £5,000 flexibility bonus
  • Fixed Hours (40 hours per week)
  • 25 days of annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • 4x Life Assurance
  • 4% employer pension contribution
  • Sick pay starting from the first day: 3 weeks full and 3 weeks half pay; after one year, it increases to 6 weeks full and 6 weeks half pay

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Check Manager is to oversee the management and execution of assigned maintenance inputs while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Delivering maintenance inputs according to schedule
  • Executing projects and company initiatives on time
  • Supporting the Base Maintenance Management Team as needed
  • Managing all personnel within their designated area
  • Issuing certificates of release to service for specific aircraft types as per QA044 staff authorisation
  • Assigning tasks and responsibilities within their work area
  • Maintaining a log of progress against tasks
  • Providing daily production briefings
  • Updating senior management as necessary
  • Developing solutions to meet maintenance targets within budget constraints
  • Issuing daily progress reports for aircraft under maintenance
  • Ensuring the technical integrity of all work conducted under their supervision
  • Monitoring the conduct and timekeeping of all allocated staff
  • Maintaining work areas to the highest cleanliness standards
  • Ensuring compliance with husbandry and tool audit requirements
  • Conducting formal appraisals of hangar staff and advising on training and development needs
  • Ensuring health and safety 'duty of care' for their team
  • Performing DQS self-audits in accordance with base maintenance procedures
  • Coordinating audits and responses among staff
  • Assisting with quality audits and implementing effective closure plans
  • Supporting the Head of Base Maintenance in budget creation and management

Required Skills and Experience

To excel in this role, the Check Manager must possess the following qualifications:

  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK
  • Category B license with C certification by aircraft type
  • Hold a B777 and/or A320 type rating and C-cert
  • Extensive experience with wide-body aircraft
  • Significant base maintenance experience as a B1 and/or B2 Certifying Engineer
  • Familiarity with Part 145 aviation regulations
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
