Position Overview:
As a pivotal member of the Aviva General Insurance CIO team, the Project Manager will play a crucial role in steering IT and business transformation initiatives. This position is ideal for seasoned project leaders or those with a background in IT delivery seeking to advance their careers in project management.

Key Responsibilities:
In this dynamic role, you will oversee the execution of various IT and business change projects aligned with the GI strategy. Your contributions will also support initiatives that enhance the GI CIO community and the overarching IT Strategy.

This position involves managing multiple projects of differing scopes and complexities. You will be tasked with delivering change across a spectrum of Aviva and third-party IT platforms, developing comprehensive plans, and effectively managing risks, issues, and dependencies. Collaboration with stakeholders to facilitate Working Groups and resolve challenges will be essential. Your ability to adapt and communicate effectively will be vital to your success.

You will lead and inspire project teams, ensuring they remain focused on their strengths while shielding them from external distractions. Your leadership will set a standard for others, fostering an environment of continuous improvement among your peers.

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • A proven track record in leading change initiatives using various delivery methodologies (Waterfall/Agile/Hybrid) while managing a diverse project team.
  • Strong understanding of change governance, including the ability to develop and execute plans while identifying and managing risks and interdependencies.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills, particularly in engaging with senior executives. You should be commercially astute and an adaptable communicator.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Professional Project Management accreditation (e.g., APM Project Management Qualification or Prince 2 Practitioner) is desirable, though training opportunities are available for the right candidate.
