About the Role

Framlingham Surgery is seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our team in a challenging and rewarding role.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work as an autonomous, first-contact practitioner, providing clinical care to patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions. This will involve assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients, as well as referring them to other members of the primary care team as necessary.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess and triage patients, including same-day triage, and provide definitive treatment or make necessary referrals to other members of the primary care team.
  • Support the development of an on-the-day emergency patient service in the practice.
  • Accurately triage and prioritize patients, including in emergency situations and telephone triage.
  • Evaluate clinical information from examination and history taking, and initiate appropriate treatment and/or referral.
  • Review the effectiveness of treatment provided, making changes where necessary to improve patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in an efficient manner.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and carers, as necessary, regarding complex and sensitive information.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council as a paramedic.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Minor Injury/Illness and Prescribing (V300).
  • 5 years post-Paramedicine Degree experience.
  • Experience in triage and dealing with a range of clinical conditions.
