Position Overview

We are seeking skilled Safety and Security Specialists to become part of our dedicated team at Solent NHS Trust. This role involves ensuring the safety and security of our facilities and the individuals within them.

As a Safety and Security Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include conducting internal and external patrols, monitoring surveillance systems, managing access control, and responding to security-related incidents promptly. You will play a crucial role in delivering a high standard of security services to the organization.

Your duties will involve:

  • Maintaining a secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Protecting the property of all individuals on site.
  • Safeguarding organizational assets against theft, fire, and vandalism.
  • Executing security tasks efficiently while prioritizing the comfort and dignity of patients.
  • Collaborating with various departments to foster effective working relationships.
  • Exhibiting compassion and courtesy in all interactions.
  • Providing first aid and basic life support as necessary until emergency services arrive.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Valid Door Supervisor SIA licence.
  • Previous experience in a security role.
  • Familiarity with security technologies, including CCTV and access control systems.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience managing high-pressure situations.

Desirable:

  • Experience in an NHS environment.
  • Knowledge of medical gases.
  • Experience in dynamic work settings.
  • Proficiency in report writing.
