Optical Coating Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Optical Coating Technician to join our team at Job Board Direct. As an Optical Coating Technician, you will be responsible for preparing and operating thin-film optical coating machines and equipment, loading and unloading precision optics, and conducting environmental performance testing of optics.
Key Responsibilities- Machine Operation: Prepare and operate a variety of thin-film optical coating machines and equipment to produce high-quality coatings.
- Optic Handling: Load, unload, and inspect precision optics to ensure accurate and efficient processing.
- Testing and Quality Control: Scan post-production parts to collect reflection, absorption, and transmission data, and conduct environmental performance testing of optics to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Process Improvement: Monitor production to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to optimize coating processes and reduce defects.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Operations Manager and other team members to achieve production goals and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Technical Skills: Experience with operating PC/PLC based machinery, and ability to read and understand job orders/instructions.
- Soft Skills: Initiative-taking mindset, flexible approach to work, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Education and Training: Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel) and experience in similar production environments may be an advantage.
