Job Board Direct Careers is seeking an experienced Optical Coating Technician to join our team at our thin-film optical coatings site in Dundee. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for preparing and operating various thin-film optical coating machines and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate a variety of thin-film optical coating machines and equipment to produce high-quality coatings.
- Load, unload, and inspect precision optics to ensure accurate and efficient production.
- Scan post-production parts to collect reflection, absorption, and transmission data to monitor coating performance.
- Conduct environmental performance testing of optics to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Interpret specification drawings and ensure machine set-up is correct to minimize errors and defects.
- Monitor production to identify and address potential system failures and coating defects.
- Exceed customer expectations by delivering high-quality coatings and yields.
- Adhere to company health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with the operations team to achieve production goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Experience in thin-film optical coating or a related field.
- Strong understanding of coating processes and equipment.
- Ability to interpret specification drawings and ensure accurate machine set-up.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
