Job Summary:

The Class 1 Day Driver position at Gregory Distribution involves making multi-drop palletised deliveries and collections to and from businesses and private addresses around the South West region. This role requires a high level of organisation, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading of vehicles, ensuring load security and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Planning routes on a day-to-day basis to ensure efficient delivery and collection schedules.
  • Completing daily vehicle checks using company-provided technology.
  • Working closely with the network hubs to ensure seamless delivery and collection operations.
  • Maintaining regular contact with the transport team to update on progress and manage customer expectations.
  • Attending regular training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid UK Class 1 (CE) driving licence.
  • Hold a current Digital Tachograph Driver Card and DCPC Card.
  • Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Confident, polite, and a team player with good geographical knowledge.
  • Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated individual.
