Overview

The Staff Engineer, Mechanical Design role is a key position within the oil and gas industry, responsible for executing the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute mechanical design solutions for complex systems and products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of projects.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure the development of technical skills and expertise.
  • Contribute to the development of technical strategies and policies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technical developments and advancements in mechanical design, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with a strong background in oil and gas industry applications.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including CAD design, finite element analysis, and computational fluid dynamics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college.
  • Professional certifications, such as PE or PMP, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field.
  • Experience with design software, such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor, and analysis tools, such as ANSYS or Abaqus.
  • Strong understanding of industry regulations and standards, including API and ASME.
