About the Role

We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Management Accountant who possesses a solid background in financial systems and operational processes. Your extensive experience in finance departments equips you with the necessary skills to handle financial operations, reporting, and compliance effectively. You are adept at managing accounting systems, ensuring precise financial data management and optimized processes. Your ability to thrive in environments that demand accuracy and efficiency will be invaluable to our organization.


Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Finance Team with the management of income collection, forecasting, and financial reporting related to various operational finances. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Senior Finance Manager with the daily oversight of financial contracts.
  • Acting as a liaison between the Finance team and various program teams, including participation in team meetings.
  • Overseeing the collection of income, including forecasting and monitoring to address any discrepancies.
  • Evaluating funding applications based on established eligibility criteria and aiding in financial contract negotiations.
  • Conducting financial data analysis to produce scheduled and ad-hoc reports.
  • Monitoring finance contracts, including payment schedules and resolving data quality issues.
  • Providing timely responses to inquiries from program staff and stakeholders regarding financial matters.
  • Collaborating effectively to gather necessary information for forecasting.
  • Supporting research funding and expense payment processes as needed.
  • Maintaining Excel-based tools and relevant accounting schedules.
  • Engaging in various internal finance processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Offering ad-hoc support to finance management and undertaking other reasonable tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in financial planning and analysis within a project and contract framework.
  • Background in a finance department.
  • Strong familiarity with accounting systems and processes.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Effective organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proactive and independent work ethic, demonstrating initiative.
  • Capacity to adapt to changing workloads and business needs.

Desired Skills

  • Experience in a finance department within a grant management organization.
