Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Finance Team with the management of income collection, forecasting, and financial reporting. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Senior Finance Manager with the daily oversight of financial contracts.
  • Acting as a liaison between the Finance team and various program teams, including participation in their meetings.
  • Overseeing the collection of income, including forecasting and monitoring to address any discrepancies.
  • Evaluating funding applications based on established eligibility criteria and aiding in contract negotiations.
  • Conducting financial analysis to generate both scheduled and ad-hoc reports.
  • Monitoring finance contracts, ensuring timely payment profiling and resolution of data quality issues.
  • Providing prompt and accurate responses to inquiries from program staff and stakeholders regarding financial matters.
  • Collaborating effectively to gather necessary information for accurate forecasting.
  • Supporting processes related to research funding and committee expense reimbursements.
  • Maintaining and updating Excel-based tools and accounting schedules.
  • Engaging in various internal finance processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Providing ad-hoc support to finance management as required.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in financial planning and analysis within a project and contract framework.
  • Background in a finance department.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting systems and processes.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Capacity to adapt to changing workloads and business needs.

Desired Experience

  • Experience in a finance department within a grant management organization.
