Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Operations Supervisor to lead our Sea Freight forwarding team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our freight services, focusing on both import and export activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct a team of Sea Freight operators, providing essential training, mentorship, and support to enhance team performance and professional growth.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with current clients, addressing their requirements, resolving issues, and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
  • Develop and strengthen partnerships with suppliers, tailoring services to meet the evolving needs of our customer base.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer relations, and digital marketing teams to uncover new business prospects and devise strategies for client expansion.
  • Work closely with the sales department on commercial aspects, including pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and service agreements.
  • Monitor industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify potential challenges and opportunities, providing insights to senior management.
  • Evaluate departmental performance and implement process enhancements to boost operational efficiency.
  • Stay informed about relevant industry regulations and ensure compliance within the team.

Candidate Profile:

  • Extensive experience in ocean freight forwarding, with a comprehensive understanding of customs regulations and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a sea freight forwarding team, showcasing strong leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Solid commercial insight, with the aptitude to recognize and leverage business opportunities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective relationship-building with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in freight forwarding software and systems.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to operations, with the ability to manage shipments directly.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A results-driven mindset, focused on achieving targets and contributing to departmental growth.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £35,000-£40,000.
  • Standard working hours from 9 AM to 5:30 PM.
