Job Summary

Ladgov seeks a highly skilled Music Director to lead our worship services and develop a vibrant musical program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music and experience in a chapel or church setting.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive music program for worship services, including recruitment and direction of the choir.
  2. Collaborate with the Chaplain and Sunday Catholic Mass Music Accompanist to select and arrange music for worship services.
  3. Lead the choir and congregation as cantor in worship and vocally lead.
  4. Provide arranged, improved, and scored music for compatibility with the type of Mass or other functions of the Chaplain's program.
  5. Conduct weekly rehearsals with choir members to ensure maximum participation.
  6. Develop a written plan of music for the Liturgical Year, including Holy Days and special celebrations.
  7. Organize and direct informal efforts to familiarize the congregation with new and alternative music in the Protestant tradition.
  8. Maintain a professional image and represent the company in a positive manner.
Qualifications
  1. Hold a degree in music or a related field, or have equivalent experience in a chapel or church setting.
  2. Be able to sing and vocally lead the congregation in choral music in keeping with the liturgical norms of the Roman Catholic Church.
  3. Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting vocal and instrumental scores, including Gregorian Chant, traditional hymns, and contemporary music.
  4. Demonstrate a familiarity with and knowledge of Catholic Faith and Liturgical needs and practices.
