Music Programming Director

Job Summary:

The Music Programming Director will be responsible for driving Music Choice's digital and commerce efforts to deliver timely releases of new music on par with competing digital services providers.

This role will manage the curation of music experiences across Music Choice's products, scheduling audio and video channels, and achieving optimal performance through analytics and key performance indicators.

The ideal candidate will have strong management skills, be able to manage direct reports, and have a solid understanding of the competitive digital landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Utilize and manage research and data to evaluate performance and define success measures for audio and video playlists across Music Choice's platforms.
  2. Lead cross-functional teams to create frequent recaps and reports to share with label partners, demonstrating the impact of Music Choice's support.
  3. Manage and foster relationships with key digital account reps at major and independent record labels to ensure timely delivery of newly released audio and video content.
  4. Leverage expertise and digital strategy to drive consumption growth by curating playlist-based experiences for Music Choice's audio and video channel products.
  5. Manage the programming of music and video channels/playlists, including building, maintenance, and scheduling; implement and refine existing programming strategies to grow usage.
  6. Maintain a solid understanding of the competitive digital landscape, identify emerging technologies, tools, and platforms to streamline efforts and get content to listeners as quickly as possible.

Requirements:

  1. Strong management skills, including the ability to manage direct reports.
  2. A solid understanding of the competitive digital landscape.
  3. Knowledge of Music Master Scheduling Software.
  4. Computer literate, with familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  5. Deadline-oriented, with the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple assignments.
  6. Strong communication skills, organization, and attention to detail.
