Join Our Team as a Head of Science

We are seeking an exceptional and dynamic Head of Science to join our team at Wetherby Pembridge School in Olympia, London. As a member of our senior leadership team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the academic vision and direction of our Science department.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of teaching and leading in an outstanding independent school setting. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Science curriculum, leading a team of experienced teachers, and ensuring that our students achieve exceptional academic results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a rigorous and engaging Science curriculum that meets the needs of our students
  • Lead and manage a team of Science teachers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address these
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and policies
  • Contribute to the development of the school's academic vision and strategic plan
Requirements
  • Proven experience of teaching and leading in an outstanding independent school setting
  • Strong academic credentials, including a PGCE, QTS, or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents
  • Ability to engage and motivate students, with a passion for Science education
  • Commitment to professional development and a willingness to take on new challenges
