Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Design Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all design projects are completed to the highest standards, while collaborating with architects and clients to understand and incorporate design intentions and requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the pre-construction stages of design, working closely with architects and clients to ensure that all design elements are aligned with project goals.
- Collaborate with cost estimators to develop cost-effective design solutions, using innovative techniques to reduce costs where possible.
- Coordinate the design process with main contractors and subcontractors, ensuring that all design functions are in line with planned manufacture and construction schedules.
- Liaise with structural engineers and production managers to interpret and respond to manufacturing queries, incorporating relevant feedback into the design process.
- Monitor and control design amendments, ensuring that all changes are documented and communicated effectively.
- Maintain high standards of design quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular reviews and quality checks to ensure design accuracy.
- Foster a positive and productive team environment, encouraging professional development and innovation.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Timber Frame, SIP, Closed panel timber design.
- Good understanding of building regulations and RIBA stages of design.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
- A passion for design and creative flair.
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
