Role Overview: We are in search of a skilled civil estimator to oversee projects within our minor works division. Reporting to the Head of Civil Engineering, your responsibilities will encompass managing minor works projects within the Environmental Services sector, catering to a diverse clientele including defense, industrial, petrochemical, and facilities management sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate project drawings and specifications to ascertain the scope of work.
- Prepare detailed project cost estimates utilizing company labor and equipment cost data.
- Generate regular project progress reports to track advancements.
- Maintain up-to-date records in the CRM system.
- Forecast revenue generation based on anticipated close dates using CRM insights.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to manage change orders and capture Contract Variations.
- Develop change order proposals as requested by Project Managers.
- Act as a brand ambassador in all interactions with clients and stakeholders.
- Solicit multiple quotes to select the most appropriate offers and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for labor, materials, and equipment.
Quality Management: Ensure that construction projects adhere to established technical standards.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in IT applications (MS Outlook, Word, Excel & Project).
- Solid understanding of current regulations including CDM, Asbestos, Temporary Works, Confined Space, LOLER, and PUWER.
- Familiarity with legal documentation related to construction (JCT & NEC).
- Basic knowledge of AUTOCAD.
- Possession of a full UK driving license.
- Experience with hazardous waste disposal and below-ground drainage systems.
