Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Development Representative to join our team for a 3-month internship. This role is an excellent opportunity for university students seeking placement experience or recent graduates looking to gain practical experience in the student accommodation industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in generating leads and attracting prospective students through various sales and marketing activities.
  • Support the sales team in managing and updating the customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Respond to inquiries from students and parents, providing excellent customer service and addressing their needs and concerns to help them book accommodation.
  • Participate in market research to identify new opportunities and trends within the student housing market.
  • Provide administrative support, including preparing reports and maintaining accurate records.
  • Effectively balance the core direct sales disciplines, including prospecting, solicitation, rate quoting, contracting, sales calls, and online conversations.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests in a friendly manner and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
  • Assist sales representatives and executives in communicating effectively with operational departments.
  • Assist salespersons in reviewing group resumes and rooming lists to ensure accuracy and fulfill any special requests.
  • Comply with the demands coming from the sales executive and other salespersons.
  • Be available to work on weekends and during evening shifts as required to meet the sales department's needs.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a university program (preferably in business, marketing, or a related field).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Prior sales or customer service experience is a plus but not required.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn about the student accommodation industry.
  • Flexible to work weekends and evening shifts.
  • Must have a valid work permit in the UK (part-time or full-time).
