A prominent IT Consultancy is seeking to hire an Application Packaging Specialist to facilitate the packaging and deployment of software applications. The Specialist will be tasked with creating application packages utilizing Flexera AdminStudio packaging software, adhering to a defined process and workflow. Responsibilities will include developing silent installation packages for deployment, which may encompass MSI/MST, installation scripts, or App-V formats, as well as conducting initial installation testing prior to client handoff for user acceptance testing.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in packaging applications for Windows 8 and Windows 10 operating systems.
  • Expertise in application virtualization through sequencing, particularly with App-V 5.0.
  • Solid background in managing applications, upgrades, and phasing out outdated versions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Windows Installer (MSI) technology.
  • Extensive experience with Application Virtualization technology (App-V 5.1).
  • Strong familiarity with Flexera Admin Studio or other packaging tools such as InstEd or Orca.
  • Good scripting capabilities in VBScript and PowerShell.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft App-V sequencer.
  • Intermediate understanding of SCCM 2012.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows platforms.
  • Ability to package software according to client specifications using various techniques (App-V, MSI/MST, and scripted methods).
