Vocational Skills Assessor

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vocational Skills Assessor to join our team at Kingston College. As a Vocational Skills Assessor, you will be responsible for facilitating the effective and efficient assessment of learners in hairdressing and barbering programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess learners on various programs across the Commercial Industries and Access School, including Level 1, 2, and 3 in hairdressing and/or barbering and Customer Service.
- Provide prompt and constructive feedback to learners after assessment.
- Ensure a strong client base in the Commercial salons, meeting income targets and undertaking assessments in the College salons and other practical areas.
- Support teaching teams and learners in reception, salon, and practical areas, assisting learners to work professionally and develop commercial and employability skills.
- Manage client bookings, increase client numbers, and achieve weekly income targets, promoting retail sales, campaigns, and displays.
- Hold a Level 3 qualification in hairdressing and/or barbering, demonstrate recent industrial experience, and show excellent demonstration skills in hairdressing.
- Hold an assessing qualification or be willing to work towards it and have awareness of academic quality standards.
- Energy, enthusiasm, and passion for the subject and education.
- Ability to support, motivate, and empathize with young learners, including monitoring their progress.
- Flexibility to work across sections within the School and include reception duties.
- Ability to work evenings and Saturdays.
