Safeguarding and Wellbeing Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safeguarding and Wellbeing Manager to join our team at Acorn by Synergie. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in upholding our values and contributing to the creation of healthy, safe environments for gymnasts across Wales.
This role will support the Executive Director of Safeguarding in managing safeguarding cases and driving continual improvements in safeguarding practices across clubs and leisure centers. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all involved in Welsh Gymnastics, offering an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of gymnasts across Wales.
Key Responsibilities- Log, Investigate, and Support Safeguarding Concerns: Handle allegations, concerns, and complaints efficiently and effectively, ensuring a prompt and thorough response.
- Risk Assessment: Support the assessment and management of risks and vulnerabilities to ensure gymnasts' safety, identifying potential threats and implementing measures to mitigate them.
- Reporting High-Risk Cases: Ensure timely reporting of high-risk cases to statutory services, maintaining open communication and collaboration with relevant authorities.
- Support and Advise Clubs and Leisure Centers: Provide guidance and support to clubs and leisure centers to ensure environments are healthy, happy spaces that promote gymnasts' wellbeing, fostering a culture of safety and respect.
- Key Point of Contact: Serve as a key point of contact, offering advice and support on safeguarding matters, providing expertise and guidance to stakeholders.
- Manage and Support Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officers: Oversee and support the work of Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to perform their duties effectively.
- Deputise for the Executive Director of Safeguarding: Act as a deputy to the Executive Director of Safeguarding, providing cover for their responsibilities and ensuring continuity of service.
- Uphold Policies: Ensure compliance with Welsh Gymnastics' policies, maintaining a strong focus on safeguarding and wellbeing, and promoting a culture of safety and respect.
- Qualifications: Degree, Diploma, or equivalent experience in social work or child protection is essential.
- Proven Track Record: Proven track record in safeguarding is essential, demonstrating expertise and experience in managing safeguarding cases and driving improvements in safeguarding practices.
- Case Management Experience: Experience of case management, lead or support role in safeguarding investigations and/or safety planning and risk assessing is required.
- Full UK Driving License: Full UK driving license with access to a vehicle is necessary for this role.
- Enhanced DBS: Full enhanced DBS (to be contacted by Welsh Gymnastics) is required, with any job offer conditional on the outcome of the DBS check and references.
- Safeguarding Advice and Guidance: Ability to provide safeguarding advice and guidance to our stakeholders, including gymnastics clubs and coaches, is essential.
- Microsoft Office Competency: Competent in using Microsoft Office software is required for this role.
