Salary: £30,783.00 - £32,772.00 per annum (pro-rata for part-time vacancies)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled individual to join our team as a Digital Forensic Technician. As a Digital Forensic Technician, you will be responsible for collecting and extracting digital evidence using standard operating procedures in support of criminal investigations.

You will work closely with our digital forensic team to provide advice and assistance to officers and staff concerning the proportionate extraction of digital data. This role requires you to utilize streamlined, targeted extraction techniques or triage capability of sized digital devices to enable faster charging decisions.

You will be required to adhere to the quality standard ISO 17025 and understand how this affects the role. You will be required to develop and maintain your competence under these requirements ensuring best practice is shared amongst colleagues.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about digital forensics and has a strong technical background. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of cases and develop your skills and expertise in digital forensics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and extract digital evidence using standard operating procedures
  • Provide advice and assistance to officers and staff concerning the proportionate extraction of digital data

Requirements
  • Technical ability and proficiency with digital devices
  • Education to A-level standard and experience of working within a digital arena
  • Experience of writing technical reports
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
