Position: Youth Support Specialist

Role Overview:
As a Youth Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in fostering positive mental health among students facing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **Advocacy for Mental Health:** Promote and support positive mental health initiatives within the educational environment.
2. **Individual and Group Support:** Work closely with students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to address challenging behavioral issues.
3. **Relationship Building:** Establish and nurture positive relationships with students to encourage constructive decision-making and emotional regulation.
4. **Behavior Management:** Manage and de-escalate behavioral incidents while enhancing students' self-esteem and facilitating their learning experiences.

Work Environment:
This position is situated within a supportive and nurturing educational setting that employs therapeutic interventions to assist each student in reaching their full potential. The school is equipped with a full-time educational psychologist and various counselors, providing an opportunity for professional development through shadowing these experts.

Student Demographics:
The role involves working with students aged 8 to 18, encompassing a range of educational stages from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5.
