We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance and Governance professional to join our team at Brown & Brown Europe. As a key member of our Compliance and Operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of regulatory compliance and operational frameworks across the business.

Your primary focus will be to develop and implement robust governance frameworks, manage regulatory compliance, and produce high-quality information to demonstrate the effectiveness of controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of FCA compliance, including Consumer Duty.
  • Collate data and produce dashboards to show the state of compliance and operational risk.
  • Analyse the root cause and propose solutions for any compliance or operational risk issues.
  • Ensure that Hedron adheres to all Group policies and minimum standards.
  • Oversee the handling of risk events such as Complaints, E&Os, Breaches, Conflicts of Interest, Sanctions, and Data Protection breaches.
  • Check a sample of file audits performed by trading teams.
  • Maintain policies, frameworks, and processes to ensure they are up-to-date and aligned with regulatory changes.
About You
  • You will have knowledge and experience of organising Risk and Compliance within an insurance broking business.
  • You will have thorough knowledge of FCA regulation within an insurance broking environment.
  • You will have analytical thinking and ability to propose pragmatic solutions for issues.
  • You will have experience presenting clear information and reports, following collation and analysis of data.
  • You will have knowledge of insurer/broker agencies and TOBAs would be advantageous.
  • You will have good working knowledge of the general insurance market and, in particular, how small and medium-sized independent insurance broking firms operate.
  • You will have a high level of personal organisation, attention to detail, and tenacity to 'get the job done'.
  • You will have experience cultivating strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
