About this Opportunity

We're on an exciting journey to transform our risk management approach, empowering our people to take end-to-end accountability for managing risks. We're creating a team of risk specialists to provide support aligned to our risk and control owners, delivering great customer outcomes.

Key Accountabilities
  • Define and implement a clear risk appetite, outlining risk tolerances and limits, and providing regulatory advice to first-line teams.
  • Change oversight of material projects and associated execution risks, ensuring timely action to address control weaknesses and customer detriment.
  • Monitor and report on risk data, providing independent challenge to risk decisions.
  • Identify Key Risk Indicators and Key Control Indicators to track progress and measure control performance.
  • Provide regulatory advice and support to first-line teams, ensuring adherence to Compliance Risk Appetite.
  • Work across the Compliance, Conduct & Operational Risk team to achieve strategic priorities.
  • Continuously monitor the risk landscape for changes to existing risks and identification of new, emerging risks.
What You'll Need
  • Experience in a second-line compliance or legal environment.
  • Knowledge of Financial Promotion rules, advertising standards, and the Consumer Duty Sourcebook.
  • Knowledge of CMA rules and guidance, specifically around the Retail Banking Order.
  • Ability to act as a specialist Conduct & Compliance Risk manager, representing the organisation and building relationships with external partners.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of RegTech and how to utilise technology and data-led solutions to deliver enhanced consumer outcomes.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and have challenging conversations.
