Position Overview:
As an Automotive Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for executing comprehensive repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicles and horticultural equipment. This role requires a high level of expertise in diagnostics and repair, ensuring that all work meets industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform major and general repairs on various motor vehicles and equipment, both in the workshop and on-site.
2. Conduct scheduled maintenance and repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and DVSA roadworthiness standards.
3. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of vehicle inspections and MOT preparation, adhering to DVSA regulations.
4. Safely handle high voltage systems and perform bodywork, painting, welding, and fabrication tasks.
5. Utilize diagnostic tools to identify faults across multiple systems, applying advanced problem-solving techniques.
Work Environment:
Maintain a clean and safe work area while ensuring the welfare of others. Participate in out-of-hours standby services and respond to roadside breakdowns as needed.
Training and Development:
Mentor apprentices and young individuals, ensuring they are trained to meet competency standards. Participate in ongoing training to maintain certifications in relevant areas.
Qualifications:
- Full UK HGV (Category C or CE) license.
- BTEC National Certificate in Automotive Engineering (ONC) or equivalent.
- Level 3 NVQ in Automotive Maintenance and Repair or equivalent experience.
- Additional certifications such as F gas license, forklift operator's license, and Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement are required.
