Vehicle Technician Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vehicle Technician to join our team at GTCO. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for undertaking major and general repairs to all types of motor vehicles and plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake repairs and maintenance of vehicles and plant equipment, including specialist repairs, inspections, and diagnostics.
- Carry out scheduled maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturers' specifications, best practice, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and MOT preparation in accordance with DVSA standards.
- Work safely and efficiently on high-voltage systems and other complex equipment.
- Diagnose faults on all systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, electrical, and others.
- Use diagnostic equipment, such as multimeters and EOBD readers, to determine faults and serviceability.
- Ensure all work is carried out with due regard to safety and welfare of others.
- Participate in out-of-hours breakdown service and attend roadside breakdowns in all weather conditions.
- Provide advice, guidance, and training to service users, drivers, and customers on vehicle operation, roadworthiness, defects, and repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of work tasks using fleet database systems.
- Assist various stakeholders, including DVSA, Taxi Licensing, and West Midlands Police.
- Obtain and maintain relevant certifications, such as fork lift truck license, F gas license, and LOLER certification.
- Stay up-to-date with specialist areas of vehicle, plant, and equipment repair, maintenance, and inspection.
- Full UK HGV (Category C or C+E) license.
- BTEC National Certificate in Automotive Engineering (ONC) or equivalent.
- Level 3 NVQ Automotive Maintenance and Repair or equivalent experience working in a heavy commercial vehicle workshop.
- LGV License: Unrestricted Category C.
- F gas license.
- Forklift operator's license.
- Tail lift LOLER certification.
- Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement.
