Job Title: Assistant Shop Manager

Company Shop Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Shop Manager to join our team. As a key member of our store management team, you will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in all areas of daily business operations, including leading the team to deliver store standards, key performance indicators, and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Store Manager with day-to-day service to colleagues, members, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to Company Shop Group policies and procedures.
  • Uphold Food Safety and Health, Safety & Environmental policies and practices.
  • Deliver retail excellence in achieving green audits, sales budgets, KPIs, local engagement plans, and productivity models.
  • Manage financial transactions, assist members through the checkout, and process payments correctly.
  • Be responsible for opening and closing the store, ensuring it is ready for trading.
  • Support the Store Manager as Duty Manager as and when required.
  • Manage colleagues, including rota/payroll management, regular 121s, absence monitoring, and disciplinary/grievance issues.
  • Lead and develop team members to deliver performance against plan.
Requirements:
  • Proven record of management in a retail environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a can-do attitude.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Food Safety - Level 1 and Level 2.

Hours: 40 hours (5 out of 7 rota basis) Afternoon shifts.

Shift pattern: Mon-Fri 1:30pm-10:30pm, Saturdays and Sundays 12:30pm-9:00pm.
