About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiologist - Consultant to join our team at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our cardiovascular department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our TAVI service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the expansion of aortic stenosis/TAVI and cardiology services
  • Work alongside Dr Raj Chelliah, leading the TAVI service, and other members of the TAVI team to deliver high-quality and timely TAVI
  • Contribute to the day-time on-call rota as Consultant of the Week
  • Participate in in-patient work primarily based at Castle Hill Hospital

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is a regional centre providing cardiology services in East Yorkshire, as well as tertiary services for patients in East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire. Our Trust is part of the Humber Health Partnership, one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS.

Requirements
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Name on the specialist register in Cardiology or eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview
  • Higher degree (MD, PhD or equivalent)
  • Clinical training and experience in cardiology equivalent to that required for UK CCT
  • Previous work in the NHS
  • Trained in TAVI and all aspects of PCI to work independently as TAVI/PCI operator
  • Established first operator experience in TAVI with dedicated/structured fellowship experience
  • Independent operator for all aspects of complex PCI
