Hull, Kingston upon Hull, United Kingdom Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Full time

Position Overview

The cardiology division is seeking a dynamic and innovative consultant to enhance our interventional/TAVI team. We acknowledge the pressing challenges within the cardiology sector and the necessity for growth. This new role will be pivotal in advancing our TAVI services, ensuring that we provide timely and top-tier patient care. You will be based at a state-of-the-art Heart Centre, featuring four cardiac catheterization laboratories equipped with advanced imaging technology, dedicated short-stay and inpatient wards, as well as comprehensive outpatient and diagnostic facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary role will involve facilitating the expansion of aortic stenosis/TAVI and cardiology services. We invite applications from consultant interventional cardiologists with a specialized focus on TAVI. This is a substantive position, and candidates with TAVI training from a structured fellowship program are particularly encouraged to apply, as immediate support is essential. You will collaborate closely with the TAVI service lead and the dedicated team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, timely TAVI procedures.

About the Trust

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust serves as a regional hub for cardiology services in East Yorkshire, as well as providing tertiary care for patients in the surrounding areas. The position offers 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), including outpatient and catheter lab sessions.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the daytime on-call rota as the Consultant of the week. Inpatient responsibilities will primarily be at the designated hospital, with the recent establishment of a cardiology ward enhancing our inpatient services.

Our Commitment

The Humber Health Partnership, comprising two Trusts, is dedicated to delivering exceptional hospital and community services to our population. We employ nearly 20,000 staff across multiple hospital sites and are actively involved in research across various medical disciplines.

We believe that fostering a diverse, inclusive, and skilled workforce is key to providing outstanding care to our patients and ensuring a promising future for our employees and the communities we serve.
