Job Description

Nursery Deputy Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at Bright Horizons UK. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care and education for our children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and mentor a team of staff to deliver exceptional care and education to all children in our care.
  • Safeguarding and Child Protection: Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, holding overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the nursery, and management of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Partnerships and Communication: Develop and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to meet the needs of each child.
  • Commercial Success: Ensure the commercial success of the nursery by maintaining expenditure inline with FTEs and budget KPIs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Engage with the Local Authority to understand the local offer, to support practice in all areas of the nursery.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
  • Experience: Experience within an Early Years leadership role, ideally as a Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager, Third in Charge or similar.
  • Safeguarding and Child Protection: Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults.
