Job Overview

This is a unique opportunity to join the radiotherapy/proton beam therapy review team at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH). The successful candidate will undertake rotations between the photon and proton departments, working closely with the team to provide high-quality patient care.

Main Duties
  • Work according to the Nursing & Midwifery Council Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse (or key worker) for a defined group of patients.
  • Take the lead as a specialist cancer resource, giving advice and support to patients, relatives, and staff.
  • Be responsible for protecting and supporting the health of individual patients, acting as their advocate when necessary within the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate programmes of care, including discharge planning for each patient at the end of radiotherapy.
  • Be accountable for coordinating patient care and the management of resources within the Radiotherapy review service.
  • Provide a clear focus for clinical leadership and ensure the provision of a high standard of holistic, patient-centred care.
  • Participate in clinical supervision programmes and teach and act as a facilitator/mentor/preceptor to junior nurses and others.
