Consultant Psychiatrist in Learning Disabilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in the Hillingdon CAMHS Learning Disabilities Team. The successful candidate will have expertise in assessing and managing neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder and learning disabilities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child and adolescent psychiatry, with a focus on learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders. They will be responsible for providing clinical leadership within the team, ensuring that there are systems in place to support the identification and management of risk, and contributing to the development of new models of service delivery.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. They will also have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of the service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership within the team
- Contribute to the development of new models of service delivery
- Ensure that there are systems in place to support the identification and management of risk
- Contribute to the assessment and management of neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder and learning disabilities
- Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
- Deliver high-quality patient care
- Primary Medical Degree
- Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register or CCT expected within 6 months of interview date
- Section 12 MHA Approved
- Approved Clinician status
- An additional postgraduate qualification of relevance to working with children and adolescents
- Experience of working with children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders
- Knowledge of clinical governance and care quality
- Ability to participate in medical audit and quality assurance
- Experience of teaching and supervision of junior staff and other disciplines
- Management training
- Experience of research
