Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist for CAMHS (Learning Disability)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our CAMHS Learning Disability Team. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing treatment for families, children, and adolescents with mental health issues and learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and treat children and adolescents with mental health issues and learning disabilities.
  • Consult and collaborate with other agencies in the assessment and treatment of complex cases.
  • Meet and consult with other members of the team and members of the Children's Health Services.
  • Plan and coordinate mental health services for children, adolescents, and families.
  • Prepare professional assessments and reports on children and young people known to you.

Requirements:

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within 6 months.
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
  • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
  • Holds and will use valid UK driving license OR provides evidence of proposed alternative.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of working for a CAMHS Learning Disability Team or for a CAMHS Eating Disorders Team.
  • Recent history of working within the NHS.
