About the Role

As a Private CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to adolescents in our private mental health unit and outpatient CAMHS team. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing treatment plans, chairing multidisciplinary team meetings, and contributing to unit governance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Take overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans.
  2. Chair MDT/CPA Meetings and adhere to organizational admission and discharge policies.
  3. Contribute to unit governance through expertise and leadership.
  4. Ensure the ward complies with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  5. Participate in ward governance meetings and organizational quality improvement initiatives and service development.
  6. Attend Monthly CAMHS governance meetings.
  7. Attend regular Outpatient CAMHS MDT meetings and involvement in service development.
Academic Responsibilities
  1. Participate in monthly Academic meetings.
  2. Engage in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  1. MBBS or equivalent Medical Degree and MRCPsych.
  2. Registration on the specialist register with CAMHS CCT/CESR, along with valid AC Status.
  3. Experience and knowledge in CAMHS.
  4. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, as well as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice.
  5. Commitment to continued professional development.

Priory Hospital Roehampton offers treatment for complex mental health difficulties for adolescents within a Tier 4 General Adolescent Unit (12 bedded) and a CAMHS Eating Disorder Unit (18 bedded). In addition, the hospital offers treatment in adult eating disorders and general adult acute and addiction services.
