Position Overview
The Expeditor role, reporting to the Operations Manager, encompasses the following responsibilities:
External Order Management
- Oversee and monitor the status of purchase orders, collaborating with suppliers to guarantee the prompt delivery of materials, components, or services.
- Act as the main liaison between the organization and suppliers after a purchase order is issued.
- Track delays in external orders and coordinate with the planning assistant to provide customers with current delivery timelines.
- Prioritize active orders with suppliers as necessary.
- Maintain comprehensive records of order statuses, delivery schedules, and supplier delays to generate performance reports.
- Utilize the SAGE 200 system to update delivery timelines for purchase orders.
Internal Coordination
- Collaborate with the Sales-Admin team to ensure timely workflow provision to production.
- Analyze internal workflows to identify procurement gaps, working with the purchasing team to address these issues.
- Review internal workflows with the planning assistant to detect delays in customer orders, partnering with the operations team to seek resolutions.
- Perform filing, data entry, and general administrative tasks.
- Generate purchase orders in accordance with production consumable needs.
- Work closely with production and quality teams to meet weekly output targets and customer expectations.
Additional Responsibilities
Execute any other tasks assigned by management as required.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficient in managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Sage and Microsoft Office.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Negotiation skills with suppliers to resolve conflicts and ensure timely deliveries.
