Your responsibilities at Clorox:

As the Lead Financial Analyst for the Europe division, you will oversee the formulation, reporting, and reconciliation of the annual financial forecasting process. Collaborating closely with team members across sales, marketing, and supply chain, you will coordinate the development of insightful brand and customer strategies focused on key performance indicators such as sales growth, gross margin enhancement, and maximizing operating profit.

This role will involve working alongside commercial teams on various financial analytical projects, including customer and product profitability assessments, inventory analysis, pricing strategies, innovation initiatives, and seasonal marketing campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

40% - Financial Forecasting:

  • Develop, create, and present the financial forecast for the Europe division.
  • Collaborate with the demand planning team to establish monthly volume forecasts at the brand, SKU product, channel, and customer levels.
  • Transform volume data into a sales forecast, incorporating details on foreign exchange, pricing, channel mix, and new product introductions.
  • Monitor targets by brand and channel.
  • Collect insights from budget owners regarding all cost drivers, including supply chain, logistics, and administrative plans by functional cost center.
  • Work with the planning team to integrate all investment budgets (Trade spending, Advertising, and Market Research) into the forecast.
  • Manage and update all forecasting systems, including new product, customer, and accounting hierarchies.
  • Create Tax P&L and manage transfer pricing.

25% - Reporting:

  • Develop a comprehensive monthly/quarterly reporting package to provide insights into financial performance.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting & Controls team to execute and finalize monthly and quarterly close activities.
  • Publish a monthly financial report focused on key performance indicators (with month, quarter-to-date, and year-to-date analysis).
  • Engage with financial colleagues and budget owners to provide insights and explanations on key variance drivers and their implications for overall performance.
  • Maintain close interaction with the AMEA Finance team regarding financial roll-ups and promptly address ad hoc queries.

15% - Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct profitability analysis for products and customers, innovation, channel analysis, supply chain, and pricing initiatives.
  • Generate profitability P&L statements for brands, products, and customers, ensuring accurate inputs from cross-functional teams.
  • Present insights and opportunities to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to create P&L statements based on business cases and scenario planning for new opportunities.
  • Represent finance in cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance on launching innovations.

20% - System Transformation:

  • Manage the reconciliation of two reporting systems during the transition phase.
  • Demonstrate experience with SAP S/4 Hana.
  • Exhibit the ability to learn new financial systems and support change management initiatives.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance and/or accounting, with at least 3 years in FP&A.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and experience in enhancing internal control processes.
  • Preferred experience in a global multinational FMCG environment.
  • Experience in eCommerce and online trade is advantageous.

Skills:

  • Proficient in financial systems such as NetSuite ERP, Concur, and Anaplan.
  • Broad knowledge of reporting tools including SAP Frior, SAC, and AFO.
  • Advanced skills in financial modeling and Excel.

Education:

  • Primary University Degree (preferably in Business, Finance, or Economics).
  • Professional Finance Certification (CIMA/CGMA) is desirable.
  • A Post Graduate Business degree (e.g., MBA) would be beneficial.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize independently, foster a team environment, and work cross-functionally while influencing other areas.
  • Superior communication skills to present financial concepts and results to senior management and non-financial audiences.
  • Flexibility to respond quickly and professionally to multiple requests while adhering to strict reporting deadlines.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
