Maintenance Engineer/Fitter Apprentice

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer/Fitter Apprentice to join our team and contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of our plant machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out repairs to plant machinery, including de-coilers, presses, and slitters, to minimize downtime and ensure optimal production output.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks to reduce breakdowns and extend the lifespan of machinery.
  • Complete work reports and maintain accurate records in the maintenance log book.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a maintenance role within a heavy production environment.
  • Previous experience working on slitters, presses, and de-coiling machines is highly desirable.
  • Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude and a good understanding of maintenance principles.
  • Relevant qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (NVQ or similar) is essential.
  • Ability to work a 3-shift rotation and be flexible with working hours.
