Position Overview

Gherson LLP is on the lookout for a dedicated White Collar Crime and Regulatory Solicitor with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience to enhance our growing White Collar Crime Team. This specialized team is engaged in intricate and high-stakes matters concerning Extradition, Mutual Legal Assistance & Interpol, as well as Criminal Litigation, Regulatory, and Investigations.

The ideal candidate will thrive in collaboration with seasoned professionals across various teams within the firm. We seek a solicitor who possesses the experience and confidence to tackle challenging and demanding cases, supported by the firm’s expertise and external Counsel.

Key Responsibilities

As part of this role, the successful candidate will:

  • Support the firm in meeting all compliance and regulatory obligations, including training and supervising junior team members.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial and business acumen, essential for the role.

Qualifications

We invite applications from candidates who can showcase the following:

  1. A qualified solicitor in England and Wales with 2-5 years of experience in extradition and criminal litigation law.
  2. Experience in supervising a team of trainee solicitors and paralegals.
  3. A proven track record in successful business development.

Preferred Experience

The ideal candidate will also have exposure to:

  • In-depth knowledge and interest in criminal litigation, particularly in financial crime, asset forfeiture, and regulatory matters.
  • Practical experience in criminal litigation, especially concerning financial crime and POCA.
  • Experience working with private clients.
  • Exceptional client management and care skills, with a strong ability to forge new client relationships.
  • A proactive and professional approach to work.
  • Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability in drafting.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to assist and cover other roles as needed.
  • Capability to perform accurately under pressure.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a willingness to work overtime when necessary.
  • A comprehensive understanding of all regulatory and compliance obligations.

The candidate must exhibit outstanding drafting skills and a genuine commitment to achieving optimal outcomes in challenging situations.
