Marine and Energy Claims Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claims Manager to lead our Marine and Energy claims team in the London Market. The successful candidate will have a strong background in claims management, with a focus on marine and energy liability, upstream energy, power, and renewables.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of specialist claims adjusters in the Hiscox London Market claims team
- Manage claims arising out of the Marine, Energy, and Specialty Division
- Work closely with the Head of London Market Claims and MES Division Leadership
- Develop and implement effective claims strategies to drive business growth and improve customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with the Claims, Underwriting, and Actuarial teams to ensure alignment on claims reserving decisions
- Contribute to the strategic development of the London Market claims team
- Monitor key reporting metrics and respond accordingly
- Represent the Claims function in front of brokers and policyholders
- Strong claims management experience in the London Market
- Technical insurance knowledge and expertise in marine and energy liability
- Strategic leadership skills and ability to manage complex technical and legal issues
- Sound commercial and intellectual skills to lead and direct a broad range of technical and legal challenges
- Ability to exercise sound commercial judgment and make sound decisions
- Good financial acumen and intuition
- Highly results-driven with the energy and determination to succeed in a fast-paced environment
