Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Polymer Materials Engineer to join our team at Listgrove Ltd. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for ensuring the development and implementation of high-quality polymer materials and processes that meet our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Research and Development: Conduct in-depth research on polymer and composite materials, including studying their properties, behavior, and applications in relation to specific processing techniques.
  2. Material Formulation: Recommend alternative polymer formulations to meet specific project requirements and industry standards.
  3. Project Management: Manage multiple projects, covering project planning, WBS (work breakdown structure), and critical path analysis.
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including researchers, engineers, chemists, and technicians, to exchange knowledge, coordinate projects, and ensure effective collaboration.
  5. Communication: Present research findings, project updates, and technical reports to customers and stakeholders.
  6. Quality Control: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement cost-effective measures, including establishing quality control procedures and specifications for materials and processes.
  7. Troubleshooting: Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to polymer materials & processes, including defects, inconsistencies, and performance problems via root cause analysis, data analysis, and validation techniques to implement corrective actions.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Polymer engineering or a related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum 5-7 years' experience in the polymer or composite industry, with a strong background in material development and processing techniques.
  3. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and propose innovative solutions. Proficiency in polymer processing techniques such as extrusion, injection molding, compounding, prepreging, and coatings.
  4. Travel: Candidate is expected to travel within the UK and abroad to perform projects, visit suppliers, and customers.
