Are you prepared to assume a critical role in a significant mechanical project? As a Senior Mechanical Engineering Project Coordinator, you will manage the technical elements of the project, ensuring the flawless execution of designs, specifications, and installations.
This position is entirely site-based, where you will leverage your expertise and leadership to ensure project success.Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Gather all design documents and drawings, and participate in project handover meetings.
Cost Optimization:
Identify cost-saving measures and prepare coordinated drawings covering all installation aspects.
Regulatory Compliance:
Review project design specifications and drawings, ensuring that coordinated drawings and technical submissions adhere to standards.
Progress Monitoring:
Assist in generating weekly progress reports and evaluating technical submissions.
Procurement Management:
Process requisitions, create purchase orders, and confirm the receipt of equipment and materials on site.
Technical Clarifications:
Address design inquiries through the request for information (RFI) system.
Financial Acumen:
Understand project profit plans, variation logs, and perform take-offs.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the design team, contractors, and internal project teams on technical and commercial matters.
Documentation Management:
Oversee document control, recording, and transmitting information using established systems.
Risk Assessment:
Develop method statements and risk assessments for production activities.
Quality Assurance:
Organize and evaluate subcontractors' work, conduct inspections, and track test packs.
Requirements:
Education: A degree in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering, Senior Trades qualification, or equivalent.
Experience:
A minimum of 4 years of project engineering experience with a mechanical contractor.
Project Execution:
Proven success in delivering small to medium mechanical projects in commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, or data centre settings.
Skills:
Strong commercial insight, ability to assess mechanical systems for specification compliance, and experience in preparing technical submissions.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and procedures.
