We are seeking experienced educators with strong clinical and academic backgrounds to contribute to our BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, pre-registration MSc Physiotherapy, and Post Graduate programmes.
Our established programmes are known for high levels of student satisfaction and excellent graduate outcomes. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant and innovative team dedicated to enhancing the educational experience through creative teaching methods and simulation practices.
As a Senior Lecturer, you will also serve as a personal tutor, utilizing your interpersonal and pastoral care skills to address sensitive student matters, understanding individual needs, and referring students to appropriate support services when necessary.
Candidates should possess registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Physiotherapist, along with a postgraduate qualification and experience in clinical supervision. A solid understanding of higher education teaching principles is essential. You should be prepared to contribute to key areas of the physiotherapy curriculum in a research-informed manner.
To be considered for this position, you should have:
A relevant degree in physiotherapy plus a postgraduate MSc, or alternatively a relevant first degree along with a pre-registration MSc in Physiotherapy. Candidates nearing completion of a post-registration MSc will also be considered. Current and active registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Physiotherapist, or a commitment to obtain this within the first year. A Higher Education teaching qualification and/or a HEA Fellowship is required, or a willingness to pursue this within the first year. Recent professional experience in a senior practitioner role. Up-to-date knowledge of current health developments, including clinical, professional, and policy advancements, as well as the essential skills needed to teach the subject effectively. Experience in implementing innovative teaching and learning strategies related to physiotherapy in academic or clinical settings.Post-graduate qualifications and an active research portfolio are desirable. If you hold a Doctorate and can supervise at this level, you will find opportunities for development as the university supports early career researchers. Clinical experience in acute care is advantageous, as is familiarity with respiratory condition management. However, we welcome physiotherapists from diverse backgrounds to educate students in various fundamental science and patient management skills, as well as areas such as leadership and professionalism.
We are looking to fill multiple permanent roles ranging from 0.6 to 1.0 FTE, and we encourage applications from candidates interested in job sharing.
