Job Opportunity: Interim Management Accountant

A reputable housebuilder in North London is seeking an experienced Interim Management Accountant to provide temporary support to their land acquisition team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-established company in the property sector, contributing to a key area of the business during a period of increased workload.

The Role:

As an Interim Management Accountant, you will be working closely with the finance team to provide vital support on land acquisition analysis. You will be responsible for running numbers on land opportunities using an existing Excel model, ensuring accuracy and supporting decision-making. The role is highly ad hoc with fluctuating workloads, but the core responsibility is to alleviate pressure on the current team during a busy period.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Running numbers for land acquisition bids using an existing Excel model.
  • Supporting the finance team in various management accounting tasks, including monthly and ad hoc reporting.
  • Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all work, including completing an Excel test during the interview process.
  • Working closely with the team to quickly onboard, learn processes, and provide immediate value in this high-pressure area.
Requirements:
  • Strong proficiency in Excel is essential (the ability to comfortably use existing models rather than building them from scratch).
  • Experience in management accounting or a similar role, ideally within the property or housebuilding sector.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a track record of accuracy and thoroughness in financial reporting.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to handle fluctuating workloads in a fast-paced environment.
  • Immediate availability for a 2-month contract, with potential for extension depending on team needs.
